Dr. Larsen recently had the opportunity to speak with Radio Health Journal about the use of psychopathy assessments in the legal system and whether individuals labeled “psychopaths” are, in fact, as dangerous as courts often assume.
In the interview, Dr. Larsen discuss research on how the Psychopathy Checklist–Revised (PCL-R) is used in judicial decision-making, the empirical limits of its predictive power, and the broader ethical and epistemic concerns that arise when diagnostic labels carry strong moral and cultural connotations.
Radio Health Journal is distributed nationally across the United States through the Radio America network and airs on hundreds of affiliated radio stations, reaching a wide public audience beyond academic and legal circles.
